MANILA- Malacañang said Thursday it was praying for the health of the President Rodrigo Duterte's eldest daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, who is on medical leave.

Duterte-Carpio in a text message to ABS-CBN News said she would not attend her father's 4th State of the Nation Address on Monday since is on leave for 60 days due to a gynecological condition.

"We can only pray for her safety and or recovery from whatever illness that she is presently suffering," Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo said during a Palace press briefing.

"Whatever, kung meron mang sakit ‘di (if there is an illness), we will have to pray for her, kung meron mang (if there is) medical condition," he said.

Duterte-Carpio was present during the President's SONA last year.
