MANILA - State-run PTV said Wednesday it would implement stricter health protocols after one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19.
The employee, who has been working remotely, tested positive on July 6, the television network said in a statement.
"Despite the employee’s non-appearance in the station’s premises for weeks, network management has decided to implement testing on all its employees," PTV said.
It added that minimum staffing will be implemented in the network's headquarters to give way to disinfection of facilities.
"All employees have likewise been directed to continue practicing the prescribed government health protocols at all times to minimize any potential risks of exposure to the virus," PTV said.
As of July 14, the Philippines has confirmed 57,545 cases of COVID-19. This includes 1,603 deaths and 20,459 recoveries.
