3 returning OFWs in Zamboanga City test positive for COVID-19

ZAMBOANGA CITY- The Zamboanga Task Force COVID-19 on Thursday recorded 3 new cases of the disease.

Local health authorities said the 3 new cases involve returning overseas Filipino workers who arrived last June 25. Their samples were collected on June 29.

One of the new patients is a 26-year-old female from Riyadh who traveled to Manila, then to Cagayan de Oro City before going home to Zamboanga City.

The other new patient is a 31-year-old male from California, USA. He came from Los Angeles to Manila, then to Cagayan de Oro City, before going to Zamboanga City.

The last new patient is a 29-year-old male from Riyadh who traveled to Manila, then to Cagayan de Oro, before arriving in Zamboanga City.

The City Health Office said the three patients are now at the Lantaka Isolation Facility.

Zamboanga City now has a total of 220 COVID-19 cases, of which 42 are active cases, as 172 have recovered and 6 succumbed to the disease.

As of Thursday, the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines is 38,805, with 1,274 deaths and 10,673 recoveries.
