MANILA - A low pressure area (LPA) has formed inside the Philippine area of responsibility and is expected to bring rains in the southern part of the country, weather bureau PAGASA said.
In a weather advisory issued 9:00 a.m., PAGASA said an LPA located 315 kilometers east of Surigao City will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over the regions of Caraga, northern Mindanao, and the Zamboanga peninsula.
The same is expected in the provinces of southern Leyte, Bohol, Siquijor, southern Cebu, southern Negros Oriental, southern Negros Occidental, and Lanao del Sur.
PAGASA warned residents in the areas against possible flash floods and landslides.
Light to moderate rains and thunderstorms, meanwhile, is expected over the rest of Visayas and rest of Mindanao, PAGASA said.
