MANILA—Authorities seized more than P244 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Parañaque City on Saturday, which resulted in the death of 2 suspected drug pushers.
Officers of the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said they conducted a joint entrapment operation targeting the suspects at a mall along Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard, which led to the encounter.
The suspects were killed in the exchange of fire.
Authorities seized 36 packs of shabu, which weighed about 36 kilos. A sedan and two caliber-.45 guns were also recovered from the scene.
Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte renewed a threat to kill drug dealers after police seized 756 kilos of shabu in Bulacan.
The estimated value of the seized contraband was P5.1 billion, which is one of the biggest seizures since he unleashed his bloody war on drugs. -- Report from Jeffrey Hernaez, ABS-CBN News; Reuters
