The Filipino community in Hong Kong is now COVID-19-free, a Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) undersecretary said early Thursday.
Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong, DFA undersecretary for civilian security and consular concerns Brigido Dulay said in a tweet that the remaining COVID-positive Filipinos in the Chinese special administrative region have recovered and have been released from the hospital.
"HK PCG reports that the Filipino community in Hong Kong is now officially COVID-free! Remaining COVID-positive Filipinos have recovered and been released from the hospital," Dulay said.
“Hope it stays that way,” he added.
The total number of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad as of Wednesday reached 5,259 after DFA reported 29 new COVID-19 cases and 7 new deaths in the Americas, Europe, and Middle East and Africa.
