MANILA - A mother from Nueva Ecija is seeking justice for her 13-year-old son, who died around 2 weeks ago after getting two shots of Dengvaxia.

Ana Marie Nacino said Dr. Erwin Erfe, forensics chief of the Public Attorney's Office (PAO), found signs of hemorrhage in her son based on the autopsy, similar to other kids who died allegedly from Dengvaxia.

"Gaya po ng mga batang in-autopsy nila e ganoon din daw po 'yung sa kanya. Magkakaparehas daw po," she told DZMM, adding that they also saw rashes on her son's chest when before the body was embalmed.

(Dr. Efre said he saw the same things they saw with other kids after autopsy.)

Nacino said her son died of heart failure last May 15. The doctors, she said, explained that her son had congestive heart disease, which she strongly denied.

The mother recalled her son had fever, along with severe stomach pain and headaches, before he died.

PAO has been conducting autopsies on kids who died after getting Dengvaxia shots after the vaccine maker Sanofi Pasteur said it may increase the risk of severe dengue for those not who have not been infected by the mosquito-borne disease.

PAO has filed criminal complaints against officials of Sanofi and the health department, and other individuals believed to be responsible for deaths that have been blamed on Dengvaxia.

Sanofi has repeatedly denied allegations that Dengvaxia was the cause of death of the children, insisting that the their vaccine is safe.
