MANILA- Pasig City lifted Tuesday its ban on the sale and consumption of liquor and other alcoholic drinks.
Drinking in public places and social gatherings, however, remain prohibited, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said.
"We are lifting because businesses and workers are also affected by the ban," he said in a tweet.
"Kung inom na inom na po kayo, sa loob na lang muna ng bahay at 'wag imbitahin ang buong barangay," he added.
(If you really want to drink, do it indoors and don't invite the whole village.)
Several other cities in Metro Manila have also lifted their respective liquor bans, which local government units imposed as the government quarantined Filipinos due to the coronavirus pandemic.
