The city of Manila reported 26 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in the city, as well as 84 new recovered patients, the highest recorded in a single day, its public information office said Friday.
The total number of recoveries in the city is now 256 while the number of total cases is 1,178.
The city government also recorded 4 new COVID-related deaths, bringing the total number of fatalities to 95.
The first district of Tondo still has the most number of COVID-19 cases in Manila with 306.
It was followed by Barangay Sampaloc with 189 cases and the second district of Tondo with 117 cases.
The number of probable COVID-19 cases in the city is 1,178 while suspected cases are 1,372.
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno earlier placed Sampaloc and the first district of Tondo under hard lockdown in an effort to contain the spread of the virus.
Metro Manila and other areas shifted to a modified lockdown until the end of the month while the rest of the country will have fewer restrictions as the enhanced community quarantine lapsed last Friday.
The Philippines now has 13,597 cases, with 857 fatalities and 3,092 recoveries so far.
