MANILA—Sen. Nancy Binay on Friday said she is confident that she will clinch the last spot in the "Magic 12" over fellow senator JV Ejercito.

As of early Friday, Binay is in the 11th spot with 11,041,386 votes, based on the latest partial and official results from the Commission on Elections. Ejercito ranked 14th with 10,984,412 votes.

But based on 97.94 percent of partial and unofficial results, Binay placed 12th with 14,416,181 votes, followed by Ejercito with 14,190,534 votes.

Binay said that based on her camp's computation, she will lead by 200,000 votes over Ejercito.

"Sabi ko nga based on our computation siguro ang expected namin na scenario is mga 200,000 ’yung ilalamang ko na medyo mahirap na mahabol. Alam din naman natin na base du’n sa pattern of votes, ’yung boto ko tsaka boto ni sir JV parang magkakambal," she told radio DZMM.

"Minsan nadadagdagan siya pero hindi naman ako lumalayo sa kaniya. Sa computation namin kung magiging ganun ang pattern, parang mahihirapan na siya makahabol."

Computations made by the ABS-CBN Data Analytics team (using data as of 97.89% ERs transmitted) showed that Binay will lead Ejercito by 213,724 votes, and Otso Diretso's Bam Aquino by 370,684 votes to grab the last Senate seat.

Binay, meanwhile, said she is heartbroken that Ejercito might not get reelected.

"Heartbreaking din on my part because I consider senator JV partner ko ’yan sa Senado. Magkasama kaming lumibot sa Pilipinas noong 2013, magkasama kaming nanalo," she said.

" ’Yung feeling na di ka makapag-celebrate kasi alam mo it’s at the expense of somebody na sobrang lapit sa ’yo."

She said she leaves it up to Ejercito to decide whether to concede or not.

"Mas maganda siguro hintayin natin ’yung official and final. It’s the call of JV, hindi naman kailangan. Rerespetuhin natin kung ano man ang magiging decision niya," she said.

Binay said she hopes to talk with Ejercito when the Senate resumes its session on Monday.

"Hindi pa kami nag-uusap. Mahirap, awkward. Maybe ’pag natapos na ’to. Hopefully kung magkikita na kami sa Monday kasi balik-trabaho na kami sa Lunes," she said.
