June Mar Fajardo has already put the “Spider-Man invasion” incident behind him, especially now that San Miguel Beer secured a fifth straight all-Filipino title.
The court streaker, cosplaying the Marvel superhero, nearly jeopardized San Miguel’s 2019 PBA Philippine Cup campaign when he dashed across the court in Game 5 and collided with Fajardo.
The man, identified as Paolo Felizarta, inadvertently hurt the San Miguel star, dropping Fajardo to the floor.
The 5-time MVP recovered, while Felizarta faces charges.
“Wala na sa akin ’yun. Hindi problema sa akin ’yun,” Fajardo said, hours after the Beermen’s conquest of Magnolia in Game 7 of the all-Filipino finals on Wednesday.
Felizarta apparently had noble intentions for dashing across the court. He carried with him pieces of paper reminding the public “to be wise” in this election.
But Fajardo said there are other means for Felizarta to express his political sentiments.
“Sana lesson na sa kanya na hindi tama ’yung way niya, ’yung ginawa niya,” he said.
Following the incident, Fajardo went on to lead the Beermen against the Hotshots.
He was eventually named the finals MVP after averaging 22.9 points, 19.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game in the series.
