MAKATI - Former Vice President Jojo Binay failed to successfully cast his vote in Precinct 0550C in NB 304 in San Antonio High School, Makati Monday morning after the vote counting machine rejected his ballot.

Binay arrived past 7 in the morning to cast his vote.

After successfully shading his ballot, Binay tried 8 times to insert his ballot in the vote counting machine but the latter kept rejecting it.

The former vice-president said he will go directly to the Commission on Elections main office in Intramuros, Manila to complain.

"Hindi na ako nakaboto. Wala na 'yung chance ko na bumoto. Mag re-reklamo ako ngayon sa Comelec. Galit ako. Bakit wala na tayong magagawa? Ganoon na lang iyon?" he said.

School principal Jina Iligan said the situation was "beyond our control."

"Inaayos na po ng technician ang machine ngayon. Kung hindi po maayos, mag re-request po tayo sa Comelec ng bagong VCM," Iligan said.

Binay's ballot is inside the ballot secrecy folder.

The Electoral Board will be the ones to insert the ballot after the machine gets fixed, according to Iligan.

The principal said Binay can come back this afternoon to claim his receipt as proof that his vote was accepted.
