MANILA — ABS-CBN News' Facebook page once again landed in the list of top 25 publishers in the world for the month of March, according to the ranking published by social media analytics platform NewsWhip.
The digital arm of ABS-CBN News, news.abs-cbn.com, had 3,637 articles and garnered 11.9 million engagements last March.
It was the lone Philippine website on the list, joining the ranks of top media entities like Daily Mail (top 1), Fox News (top 2), CNN (top 3), BBC (top 4), and New York Times (top 6).
"For the first time this calendar year, Fox News was not top of the rankings, with the Daily Mail squeezing ahead with some 45 million engagements," the analytics website reported.
The ranking is based on Facebook likes, shares and comments on web publishers' articles.
"There were some very clear top stories in March: the death of actor Luke Perry after a stroke, at the age of 52 and the Christchurch shooting, coverage of which and of its aftermath dominated headlines for many publishers," Newswhip said.
The strong performance of the Facebook account of ABS-CBN News comes on the heels of the news organization's preparations for 2019 midterm elections, where it will partner with some of the world's biggest social media organizations.
