MANILA (UPDATE)—President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday criticized human rights advocates for supposedly spreading “black propaganda.”

The President alleged that rights groups have been spreading rumors that his youngest daughter, Veronica Duterte, is a drug addict.

“Human rights, son of a b****. Human rights, kayong mga black propaganda. Pati ‘yung anak kong si Veronica, 14 years old, drug addict? May ipalabas ako. You just wait,” he said in a speech during a campaign sortie of the PDP-Laban party in Tuguegarao City.

He added that he would release an intelligence report in the coming days on the supposed malicious allegation.
“Alam mo, marami ka rin kaibigan sa ibang bayan. What you did not know is that you were being listened to habang ginagawa ninyo ‘yung kalokohan ninyo. Ilabas ko ‘yan in a few days. Pine-perfect ko lang ang ano,” Duterte said.
“It was an intelligence report, not from us but from another country. ‘Yan ang nagloloko sa iyo.”

The President has repeatedly been at odds with human rights advocates over his controversial war on drugs.

Police claim that more than 5,000 drug suspects have been killed since the government launched its anti-narcotics drive but human rights groups say this figure is understated.
