MANILA -The office of Vice President Leni Robredo on Tuesday said the drop in her satisfaction ratings signaled the need to do more even as a majority of Filipinos still supported the official.

In a statement, Vice Presidential spokesperson Georgina Hernandez said the continued support of the majority would serve as "an encouragement" to the Vice President.

"We take every survey as a continuing challenge to do better and make a bigger difference in the lives of the marginalized," Hernandez said.

A recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed an 11-point drop in the satisfaction rating of the Vice President during the first quarter of the year.

It showed that while 53 percent were satisfied with Robredo, 27 percent were dissatisfied and 19 percent were undecided.

The opinion poll was conducted just days after Robredo faced threats of impeachment for baring alleged irregularities in President Rodrigo Duterte's war on drugs through a video message to the United Nations.

Still, Robredo's office thanked the public "for the continued trust."

"The support of the majority is an encouragement to Vice President Leni Robredo, who is working with communities and partners to address poverty around the country," Hernandez said.

She said the results were "a steady reminder" that Robredo has to reach out to more families and communities.

Senator Francis Pangilinan meanwhile downplayed the 11-point plunge in the satisfaction rating of his fellow Liberal Party (LP) stalwart.
"It is expected that there will be drops as well as increases in her satisfaction ratings," Pangilinan, the LP president, said in a statement.

"The 11-point drop means that a segment of the population may not be in agreement with a number of positions she has taken, but that is expected as well," he said.
