MANILA—The state weather bureau recorded a lower heat index in the country Wednesday, April 10.
Calapan city in Oriental Mindoro recorded the highest HI on the day, with the mercury rising to 46.8 degrees Celsius at 2 p.m.
Despite the relatively lower temperature, 13 areas remain in the "danger" category.
Among those with the highest humiture are Infanta town in Quezon (43.5 degrees Celsius) and Ambulong in Batangas City (43.2 degrees Celsius.)
A heat index of 42.5 degrees Celsius was also recorded in Pasay City, Metro Manila.
The Department of Health (DOH) has advised the public to keep themselves hydrated and protected from sun exposure.
PAGASA forecasts that on Thursday, Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao could experience partly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, could experience partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers.
