The enhanced community quarantine in Iloilo City is extended until April 30, Mayor Jerry Treñas said Tuesday after his consultation with authorities.
"After consultation with our focal personnel, (Department of Health), Medical Doctors, City Health Office, some businessmen, and in due coordination with Gov. Art 'Toto' Defensor, I will be extending the Enhanced Community Quarantine in the City of Iloilo until April 30 at 11:59pm," he said in a Facebook post.
Treñas said the city currently has 4 cases out of the 36 total number of the coronavirus disease patients in Western Visayas.
He reminded the public on the safety precautions like staying at home, physical distancing, avoiding mass gathering.
Treñas also encouraged residents to cooperate and help the authorities during the crisis.
President Rodrigo Duterte earlier extended the Luzon lockdown until April 30 to contain the pandemic.
