CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY - Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio on Friday tagged groups critical of her father President Rodrigo Duterte behind the video linking her brother Paolo in the illegal drug trade.

"May mga listahan, siguro aabot ng sampu na mga anti-President Duterte na mga grupo. Anyone of them gumawa nito," she said.

(There's a list of maybe around 10 anti-President Duterte groups. Anyone of them could have done this.)

A video uploaded online earlier linked the former vice mayor and Agriculture Assistant Secretary Waldo Carpio to an illegal drug ring. Carpio is a sibling of the mayor's husband Manases Carpio.

Duterte on Thursday cleared his son of involvement in the illegal drug trade and said his political enemies were behind the viral video.

The President's daughter, meanwhile, said the video did not affect the family and that they did not even bother to talk about it.

"It is best na siya (Paolo) lang ang mag-comment. So far nakita ko 'yung dalawang video that is not worthy of a comment kasi malinaw sa episode 1 pa lang may mga hindi totoo sa istorya," she said.

(It is best if Paolo is the one who makes a comment. So far, I saw the two videos that are not worthy of a comment, because episode 1 clearly shows false stories.)

Paolo Duterte on Thursday tagged staunch administration critic Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV in the release of the video.

Duterte-Carpio also said there was no reason for her camp to respond to a recent report that said there was a massive spike in her, her father and brother Paolo's wealth.

"Nagpadala sila ng sulat ... because my chief of staff is a lawyer so dalawa kaming lawyer nag-usap sabi namin there is no good reason sagutin 'yung letter," she said.

(They sent a letter ... because my chief of staff is a lawyer, we're both lawyers, we decided that there's no good reason to answer the letter.)

Duterte-Carpio, meanwhile, said her father cannot suspend the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus, as the latter had said in a speech Thursday night amid problems in state affairs he is handling as President.

"If you go by it legally the President cannot suspend the [privilege of the] writ of habeas corpus. Only the Congress can do that under the Constitution," she said.

"Kung mayroong announcements si President Duterte tungkol diyan (If President Duterte has announcements about that) I have yet to read anong basis."
