ORMOC CITY - ABS-CBN took home 11 out of 14 awards at the 5th Students Choice Mass Media Awards of the Eastern Visayas State University-Ormoc City Campus (EVSU-OCC).
The network's flagship newscast "TV Patrol" was hailed as the best news program while "Umagang Kay Ganda" won as the best morning show.
Public service program "Salamat Dok" bagged the best medical TV program award.
Veteran broadcaster Noli de Castro was named as the most trusted male anchor while Jeff Canoy was awarded as the most trusted male field reporter.
Numerous entertainment shows also clinched trophies, such as "It's Showtime" as the best variety show and "Banana Sundae" as the best comedy show.
The Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda was named as the best comedian.
Meanwhile, the Angel Locsin-fronted TV show "The General’s Daughter" took the prize as the best primetime TV series.
"Maalaala Mo Kaya" brought the best drama anthology award, while "Kadenang Ginto" emerged as the students’ choice for best daytime TV series.
