MANILA — There are now 2,633 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines, the Department of Health said on Thursday.
During a televised briefing, the DOH announced 322 new cases of the contagious disease. Health Secretary Francisco Duque III also confirmed 1 new recovered patient and 11 new deaths.
This brings the number of total recoveries to 51 and total fatalities to 107.
Worldwide, there are now more than 930,000 COVID-19 cases, with the United States topping the list of countries with the highest coronavirus incidence. Of that number, 194,000 have recovered and 47,000 have died.
Since March 16, Luzon has been on lockdown, with government ordering people to stay at home and suspending public transport, school and work, except for basic services, in a bid to contain the virus.
