MANILA -- House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano on Wednesday said that he and his wife, Taguig Rep. Lani Cayetano, are on self-quarantine anew after interior and local government chief Eduardo Año tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Last March 23, the Congress convened in a special session to pass the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act Law.
Año and Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea were present at the House of Representatives to justify to lawmakers why the executive wanted that law passed.
Congressmen and staff at that special session were already on self quarantine after Appropriations Committee Chair Eric Yap initially tested positive for the COVID-19, but they emerged from it following Yap's revelation that the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine made a clerical error, clarifying that he really tested negative for the disease.
