ZAMBOANGA CITY - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has delivered several election paraphernalia and supplies in Zamboanga City ahead of the May midterm elections.
Atty. Jan Christian Babiera, Election Officer of District 2, said poll supplies include 500 ballot boxes and a back-up battery for the vote counting machine.
The supplies were stored at a private warehouse for safekeeping leased by the Comelec.
Soldiers and policemen have been deployed to secure the election paraphernalia until these will be distributed to different precincts.
Babiera, meanwhile, reminded all local candidates to remove oversized posters as the local campaign period officially kicks off Friday.
The Comelec also notified barangay officials and public hospitals to remove all names of political candidates in government vehicles, including ambulances.
