MANILA--Anti-narcotics operatives confiscated some P1.1 billion worth of suspected shabu during a raid inside a village in Muntinlupa City on Tuesday.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) also arrested 4 Chinese citizens believed to be members of the Chinese-run Golden Triangle syndicate.
PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino said his group first conducted a buy-bust operation outside a shopping mall on Madrigal Ave., where 3 suspects were caught with more than 40 kilos of supposed crystal meth, locally known as shabu.
In a follow-up operation, operatives raided a house inside Ayala Alabang Village and discovered more than 100 kilos of drugs concealed inside tea bag boxes and biscuit tins. They also arrested another Chinese national.
The PDEA are looking into whether the suspects are connected with 2 Chinese nationals who were killed in a drug operation in Tanza, Cavite in February.
Some P1.9 billion worth of suspected shabu were seized inside the warehouse during the operation. - Report from Dexter Ganibe, ABS-CBN News
