MANILA—A magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck off Occidental Mindoro on Saturday, Phivolcs said.
The tremor happened at 5:58 p.m., 17 kilometers northwest of Abra de Ilog town.
It was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 108 kilometers, according to the Phivolcs.
The following instrumental intensities were reported:
Intensity III - Calatagan, Batangas
Intensity II - Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; Tagaytay City
Intensity I - Dolores and Mulanay, Quezon; Olongapo City
The tremor was not expected to cause damage and aftershocks.
