MANILA--Batangas has 3 confirmed COVID-19 cases, the provincial governor said on Sunday.
Gov. Hermilando Mandanas said authorities have already conducted contact-tracing on the patients.
The Batangas Provincial Health Office said the confirmed cases include an elderly man and a woman, who have since been taken to a hospital in the National Capital Region.
The third case is confined in a hospital in the same province.
Mandanas reiterated that the provincial government is not imposing travel restrictions.
"Kung ang ibig sabihin ng travel restrictions ay bawal pumasok at lumabas at merong mga checkpoints, wala dito sa Batangas," Mandanas said in an interview with DZMM Teleradyo.
(If travel restrictions mean no one is allowed to come in or go out, and there are checkpoints, there is none of that in Batangas.)
Sea travel, meanwhile, has some restrictions as passengers are not allowed to buy tickets unless they are traveling for work or other important matters, Mandanas said.
