MANILA - In the midst of a water shortage, residents of Barangay Hulo, Mandaluyong City race every night to get water rations from a fire truck.

A video taken by ABS-CBN journalist Edwin Sevidal shows residents bringing buckets and other water containers near fire trucks to get water.

Over 1.2 million households in Metro Manila are currently grappling with scarce water supply, which authorities said could last until the summer season.

Manila Water has blamed increased demand and delays in infrastructure projects, aggravated by the effects of El Niño, for the water shortage.
