MANILA - Manila Water on Tuesday said it would give priority to providing water supply to hospitals, especially those in areas affected by the current water shortage.
Manila Water chief operating officer Geodino Carpio said Health Secretary Francisco Duque personally went to his office on Tuesday morning.
“Secretary Duque came to my office. He wanted assurance that his hospitals won’t run out of water,” Carpio said. “My response to him was our top priority are hospitals.”
The Manila Water official said tankers were already sent to the Rizal Medical Center to provide supply.
They are also studying the hospital’s monthly and daily consumption to ensure that the demand for water is met.
Water supply has been short in eastern Metro Manila amid the declining water level at the La Mesa dam because of the lack of rain and rising demand.
