BANISILAN, North Cotabato - Eight people were injured in a grenade explosion near the town plaza here late Wednesday on the eve of the town fiesta.
The victims were preparing Barangay Tinimbacan's festival booth when unidentified individuals hurled a grenade at them, witnesses said.
Tinimbacan village chairman Sanny Kadil, who was involved in a family feud, may have been the target of the attack, investigators said.
Kadil's 18-year-old son Kingboy was wounded in the blast along with Esmael Cañedo, 43; Jeffrey Salunayan, 38; Samrod Mamukaw, 27; Jhun Ahmad, 38; Mehdin Gampong; Datu Ali Mamukaw ,22; and Dali Mamukaw, 30.
