MANILA - Two new lanes of the Laguna Lake Highway, formerly known as C-6 Dike Road, will be opened to the public on Thursday, Department of Public Works and Highways announced.
“The opening of the additional two (2) lanes from from Napindan to M. L. Quezon section in Taguig City is the first phase of the Laguna Lake Highway project, which is expected to reduce travel time from Taytay to Bicutan by about 50 percent ,” said DPWH Secretary Mark Villar.
The total budget for the 10.7-kilometer road network is P1.2289 billion, which covers the construction or widening of 2 bridges, rehabilitation of 10.28-km asphalt road with provision of 2 additional lanes, including planting strips and a bike lane.
The whole project is expected to be completed by December, Villar said.
“With this highway, the traffic from EDSA and C5 will be greatly reduced”, he added.
