MANILA - Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. celebrated the New Year with Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian on Thursday at the latter's residence, with the officials touching on key issues between Manila and Beijing.
The 2 diplomats discussed the joint oil and gas development between Manila and Beijing as well as major infrastructure projects, according to the Chinese Embassy.
"Both sides expressed satisfaction on the development of China-Philippines relations during the past year...and expressed confidence that the bilateral relations would embrace new development opportunities in 2020," the Chinese embassy said in a statement.
Both Locsin and Huang also agreed to “seizing the day and living it to the full,” it added.
Huang, who just arrived in the Philippines last month, replaced Ambassador Zhao Jianhua as Beijing's representative in Manila.
