LONDON -- Philippines' Miss World representative Michelle Dee is grateful for the support of her countrymen who cheered for her and shouted the loudest at Excel London during the coronation night of the 69th Miss World pageant here on Saturday.
Dee, 23, made it to the top 12 but failed to land a spot in the top 5.
Dee dedicated her performance to her countrymen and her family. She also thanked her mother, former Miss International Melanie Marquez.
“Napakadami niyang ginawa para suportahan ako dito. I have to look for her in the crowd but I’m just lucky to have her as my mom,” Dee told ABS-CBN News.
“The best part is being surrounded by many inspiring women. All of us have the shared goal of trying change the world to make it world a better place. It's so exciting to see what’s going to happen after," she added.
Jamaica's Toni-Ann Singh was crowned Miss World 2019. Ophely Mezino from France came in second place, while India's Suman Rao placed third.
