MANILA -- The Philippines' Gazini Ganados debuted her "Phoenix Walk" on the Miss Universe stage in the US on Friday (Saturday in Manila), slaying in her two-piece swimsuit.
The 23-year-old model and elderly care advocate flaunted her curves and twirled with her yellow cape during the preliminaries in Atlanta, Georgia that was co-hosted by the reigning Miss Universe, the Philippines' Catriona Gray.
Ganados completed her swimsuit presentation without incident while other candidates slipped on stage, including Miss France Maëva Coucke and Miss Malaysia Shweta Sekhon.
The preliminary swimsuit, evening gown and interview rounds will determine who will advance to the semifinals during the finals on Sunday (early Monday in Manila).
Miss Universe 2019 airs on Dec. 9 at 8 a.m. on ABS-CBN and on its streaming platform, iWant.
