MANILA – Another popular milk tea shop from Taiwan is now in Manila.

JLD Dragon recently opened its first Philippine branch at Robinsons Galleria in Ortigas, adding to its 40 stores in Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Japan.

The menu at JLD Dragon – also known as Join Lucky Dragon or Ji Long Tang – is short and simple, placing more focus on freshness and quality.

At the center of it is the Brown Sugar Bubble Thick Milk which is made with fresh milk, cream, Okinawan brown sugar, and perfectly chewy, gummy-bear like boba.

And speaking of boba, the Taiwanese partners at JLD Dragon guarantee that the pearls are freshly made every four hours (“After four hours, we dispose of it already. So it’s guaranteed fresh”).

Aside from Brown Sugar Bubble Thick Milk, there is also the less creamy Brown Sugar Bubble Milk, the boba-free Brown Sugar Milk, and the green tea-flavored Brown Sugar Matcha Bubble Milk. All these can be enjoyed hot or cold.

Of course, JLD Dragon also sells milk tea – called tea latte – with brown sugar. Customers can choose from oolong or black tea as their base.

For those who are looking for something light and refreshing, they can order cold tea drinks or freshly squeezed juices.

JLD Dragon is planning to serve souffles in its Robinsons Galleria branch starting next month.

For now, customers can enjoy cheesecake topped with boba, milk tea-flavored popcorn, and Manila-exclusive sweets such as Calamansi Pie and Ube Custard Cake.
