This hotel in QC puts diners right in the thick of the action

MANILA – The Ayala-owned Seda Vertis North, currently the largest hotel in Quezon City, will have its grand opening on Wednesday.

People already have an idea of what to expect from the 438-room hotel, which was unveiled to members of the media last June

It has since been on soft opening, with its sisig station becoming a hit among families on a staycation as well as long-term guests.

But here’s one offering at Seda Vertis North that some might not yet be familiar with: a chef’s table. Group general manager Brett Hickey said they want their guests to have a slice of the culinary action by letting them have a meal inside the hotel kitchen.

The chef’s table at Seda Vertis North can accommodate up to 14 persons at a time (“or 18 if we stretch it,” said Hickey), with the meals dependent on available ingredients. 

“The more adventurous you are, the better. If you’re willing to try the chef’s selection, I can do it on the same day,” Hickey told ABS-CBN News. “Tell us at lunch that you want to have dinner inside here. We can even do some cooking lessons.”

“There is no minimum number, but there is a maximum number of persons,” he added. “It’s not really meant to make money, it’s just to give guests a new experience.”

ABS-CBN News and selected members of the media were recently given a preview of the chef’s table experience at Seda Vertis North, and it certainly did not disappoint. 

The two highlights of the seven-course meal were the Braised Beef Short Plate with Herbed Potato, Seasonal Vegetables, and Foie Gras; as well as the simple yet sinful Chocolate ala Bomba.

“It’s not like a cookie-cutter procedure. It’s meant to give diners a glimpse of the process,” Hickey explained. 

Adding value to the experience is the multi-talented kitchen staff that performed a song number during the chef’s table dinner. According to Hickey, this can also be requested by guests. 

The chef’s table experience is available starting at P1,000 per person for lunch, and as low as P1,500 per person for dinner. Seda Vertis North is located at Astra corner Lux Drives, Vertis North, Diliman, Quezon City.
