A new host for the multi-awarded travel show "G Diaries" has been named, replacing the late Gina Lopez.
Lopez hosted the previous three seasons, and the show will honor the beloved environmentalist's legacy as it moves forward with her brother, Ernie Lopez, at the helm.
The new "G Diaries," which began over the weekend, features the communities and people whose lives were changed by the various charity initiatives of the ABS-CBN Foundation.
Doing so embraces Lopez's mission in life, that is to share the love to those in need of it, according to the show.
Among these charity programs are the "Share the Love" bus, which aims to distribute school supplies, food, and seedlings for planting across the country, and the projects aimed at providing continuous support to those affected by super typhoon Yolanda in 2013.
"No one can take her place," Ernie Lopez said, referring to his sister Gina. "Pero hindi ibig sabihin that we should quit. Hindi natin pwedeng itigil ang mission niya to share the love."
Ernie Lopez is also the president of the ABS-CBN subsidiary Creative Programs Inc.
"G Diaries" first aired in 2017, and has won several awards, including recognition from the Gandingan Awards 2019 and the Catholic and Mass Media Awards 2019.
"G Diaries" airs every Sundays on ABS-CBN, 10:15 a.m.
