GENERAL SANTOS CITY - A local artist is paying tribute to philanthropist and environmentalist Gina Lopez with his digital vector artwork.
Marthin Anthony Millado said he was first inspired to make a portrait of Lopez in 2017 because of "her passion and commitment to preserving the environment."
Millado, who has roots in the B'laan tribe, described Lopez as a Filipino with real concern for indigenous people in the country.
He titled the piece "Bong Salamat Gina Lopez for everything that you have done."
Millado, 43, has made a name for himself doing promotional designs for festivals in General Santos City, winning awards in international competitions.
"Digital vector art is making art with the use of shapes and lines," he said.
His own mother also praised Millado for his work.
"Wow, sabi ko. I know [that] when he did that he was inspired," Consuelo Lozano said.
