MANILA -- Entering a university is an exciting time. And for a girl like Juliana Gomez, who has set quite a bit of high expectations for herself by aiming to become a collegiate volleyball star on her way to making it to the national team, a lot of things could go wrong.
Though from the looks of it, Gomez, the only daughter of actor-turned-politicians Richard Gomez and Lucy Torres, is off to a flying start.
This Friday, she posted on Instagram a photo of her after what appeared to be the first training session with her fellow rookies for the women's volleyball team of the University of the Philippines (UP).
"First day in my dream school with my dream team," she wrote as the caption.
It remains unclear whether she is officially part of the team just yet, though her smiles suggest that she could not have asked for a better start to her life as an Iskolar ng Bayan.
In interviews past, she shared that she wanted to enroll in UP, where her parents graduated. She said that she wants to take up a course in Communication and that she would love to follow in her father's footsteps, who also played collegiate volleyball.
