BATA TO DONATE SHOES TO FRONTLINERS, FAMILIES

Shoe company Bata has committed to donate 1 million pairs of shoes to frontliners in countries where it operates.

Here in the Philippines, it is set to give away 1,800 pairs of footwear to healthcare workers, volunteers, and their families through SM Foundation. 

Bata has been working with foundations, charitable partners, government officials, and other organizations to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines and other parts of the world such as India, Czech Republic, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Colombia, Italy, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Chile, Peru, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Through its Bata Heroes initiative, the shoe company has donated face masks, face shields, and personal protective equipment for health care workers. 

It has also given out food, hygiene products, and funds through the Bata Children's Program and the Bata Shoe Foundation. 

Founded in 1894, Bata has 5,800 stores worldwide.

Cosmetics company Maybelline recently introduced a new collection of Superstay Matte Ink liquid lipsticks, promising a long-lasting shade that won't smudge on face masks. 

The Rogue Reds collection comes in seven shades "that stay on for 16 hours of transfer-proof wear."

The new products are available at Maybelline counters and online stores nationwide. 

SAMSUNG REINTRODUCES 'THE FRAME' TV

Samsung hopes to inspire art enthusiasts, interior designers, and other tastemakers as it reintroduces The Frame, a lifestyle TV that features QLED picture quality and functions as a piece of art at the same time, to the Philippines.

The Frame functions as a TV when it's turned on, and projects itself as art when it's turned off. Aside from integrating QLED technology and other smart features, it also gives customers access to the Art Store program.

The Art Store, which comes with a one-month trial, is a subscription-based database of digital art, allowing owners to curate a personal art collection from top galleries around the world. 

The Frame comes with interchangeable accessory bezels to match the style of one's interiors, and a no-gap wall mount feature to help the TV blend in from any angle, like a real gallery piece. 

A separate studio stand also allows The Frame to be placed anywhere in the house.

The Frame comes in 32-inch (P31,999), 55-inch (P79,999), and 65-inch (P109,999) models and is available in Samsung Authorized Dealer stores.

SHOP ONLINE AT SHANGRI-LA PLAZA

Shangri-La Plaza has teamed up with the delivery apps JoyRide and MyKuya to help bring products from its stores straight to customers' doorsteps.

JoyRide is ideal for those who are buying items from one store. Customers will be asked to contact the store directly to order items, and have the JoyRide driver pick up and deliver the items after payment. They can choose to book the JoyRide driver themselves, or ask the store to do so on their behalf. Delivery fees will be charged to the customer.

On the other hand, MyKuya is for customers who want to go on a shopping spree across several establishments in the mall. The app matches customers with their own personal shoppers, who can be instructed on what to purchase. They can discuss payment options with their "kuya" or "ate" -- the personal shopper can pay for the items first if these are valued at less than P1,000, but will have to drop by the customer's place first to get the money for more expensive purchases. 

TENDOPAY PARTNERS WITH 7-ELEVEN

TendoPay recently launched a partnership with 7-Eleven, allowing customers to pay for their purchases from the convenience store chain's branches in the Philippines over several months. 

After applying via cliqq.net, customers can buy vouchers on installments on the TendoPay website and load their 7-Eleven CliQQ wallet, which they can use at the convenience store for their purchases.

"It allows them to make purchases whenever they actually need them. Then they can repay them once they get their salary or even spread the cost over several months," said TendoPay president Kacper Marcinkowski.

TendoPay is a digital installment plan solution that gives its customers the convenience to buy now and pay later for their online purchases in 15 days, or up to 24-month installments.
