MANILA -- Here are some of the events, shows, and activities you can check out this weekend. 

1. NIALL HORAN FLICKER WORLD TOUR

When: June 10
Where: SM Mall of Asia Arena

One Direction member Niall Horan is set to have a solo concert this weekend as part of his Flicker world tour.

This is not the first time Horan will come to the Philippines. In 2015, One Direction came to Manila to perform before thousands of their fans. Horan has also been to Boracay along with a group of friends.

"One of the things I notice of all the places I went on my little trip last year, the Filipinos were all so welcoming. Kind of reminded me of the Irish, very happy and kind of welcoming. I think that's kind of a world-renowned thing," he said.

Up-and-coming artist Jayda will perform as the opening act.

2. IISA

When: June 9
Where: Kia Theater, Cubao, Quezon City

Ebe Dancel, Johnoy Danao, and Bullet Dumas a.k.a. 3D are teaming up again, this time for a special concert with the Manila String Machine Orchestra and special guests.

The show will feature captivating and intimate performances from the three of the most influential singer-songwriters of our generation. With more elaborate production values, an orchestra and a backing band to support the performances, "Iisa" aims to take the 3D concert experience to the next level.

3. TOYCON 2018

When: June 8-10
Where: SMX Convention Center, Pasay City

Hollywood actress Kelly Hu, who has starred in movies such as "The Scorpion King" and "X2," and Jason David Frank, the original Green Ranger of the "Power Rangers" franchise, are the headlining guests of this year's ToyCon. 

The other guests of ToyCon 2018, considered one of the biggest pop culture events in the country, include voice actor Dante Basco, or Zuko in the popular animated toon "Avatar: The Last Airbender," and Korean singer Hyolyn. 

Legendary comic book artist Neal Adams will also be attending, along with Michael Copon (the Blue Power Ranger from "Time Force") and Kevin Grevioux, who has appeared in "Underworld" film series. 

Ticket prices range from P600 for a single-day pass to P1,300 for all 3 days. 
 
4. WEDDINGS AT THE PENINSULA

When: June 9
Where: The Peninsula Manila

The Peninsula Manila, in partnership with event organizer Rita Neri Event Planners, is holding a special wedding fair, showcasing some of Manila's best wedding suppliers, carefully handpicked by the hotel and Rita Neri. 

Some of the luxury brand exhibitors will include Bvlgari, Denovo Diamonds, Jewelmer, Charriol, Rosa Clara, AirTaxi, Amanpulo Resort, and The Farm at San Benito, just to name a few. Penk Ching will also feature her best cake designs, while Salcedo Auctions will showcase its art selection. 

The event will end with a bridal fashion show featuring designers Jojie Lloren, Mark Bumgarner, Michael Leyva, Joey Samson, and Mark Tumang. 

5. BRIDAL BOUTIQUE AT MOMENTO

When: June 8-10
Where: Summit Hotel Magnolia, Quezon City

Summit Hotel Magnolia is holding its very first bridal fair featuring the top names in the wedding industry such as Designers Circle Philippines, Robinsons Department Store, Skin Perfect, The Mulberry Shop, and Slam Event Production, to help you out with your wedding preparations 

For the first two days, wedding experts will hold special talks and demos for everyone as they offer tips and advice for your big day. For instance, a team from Slam Event Productions will give their best hair and make-up tips. Designers from the Designers Circle Philippines will also present their bridal ensembles. Registration for these talks will start at 10 a.m.

On the third and final day, see your dream wedding gown on the runway in a fashion show presented by the Designers Circle Philippines starting at 5:45 p.m.

6. LIVE 2018

When: June 9, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Edsa Shangri-La, Manila

In celebration of Global Wellness Day, Edsa Shangri-La, Manila presents a body and spirit festival at the Marquee tent, tennis court, Health Club, CHI, The Spa and pool grounds of the hotel. 

The day-long event features fitness and wellness activities with live workouts and coaching, programs for wellbeing, tips on leading a healthy and active lifestyle headed by top fitness and wellness experts, live music and entertainment and a total wellness market open to the public. 

Special Health Club membership deals and offers from CHI, The Spa will likewise be on offer. 

Tickets are priced at P1,000 for a pne-day pass or at P1,500 with a healthy lunch plate. Special room packages are available starting at P9,800 nett, inclusive of breakfast for two at HEAT and two tickets for the day’s festival pass with a healthy lunch plate.

7. NEON ICE PARTY

When: June 9, 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Where: SM Mall Of Asia Skating Rink

Glide your way to this unique ice party with DJs Atendido and Dara Carmina. This event is open to all ages including minors, although those 15 years old and below must be accompanied by a ticket-bearing adult/guardian.

Ticket includes access to the venue lobby and ice skating, and skating shoes rental. It also includes either one Snacktime combo or two cans of beer (for guests aged 18 years old and above only). 
 
8. PAMANA: A CELEBRATION OF CULTURAL HERITAGE

When: June
Where: Shangri-La Plaza

Shangri-La Plaza celebrates Pinoy cultural heritage this independence month.

Know more about the beginnings of Philippine music and dance as the Ramon Obusan Folkloric Group takes center stage on June 10, 7 p.m. at the Grand Atrium. Founded in 1972, this dance company is the leading advocate for presenting Philippine dance closest to its original form and continues to champion the rituals of more than 50 ethnolinguistic groups through their craft.

On June 9, catch a special performance by Jed Madela, the first Filipino to win at the World Championships of Performing Arts, at the Grand Atrium at 7 p.m. as he sings his greatest hits. 

Mallgoers can also enjoy local goods at the Proudly Pinoy Fair happening at Food Forum on June 8-10.
