MANILA – Heart Evangelista is finally fulfilling her dream of building an animal welfare facility.
The actress made the announcement in an Instagram post on Monday as she shared a photo of her standing on a vacant lot in Sorsogon.
Her husband, former senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero, is the newly elected governor in the province.
According to Evangelista, the facility will provide “services such as spaying, neutering, tagging, and shots,” and will serve as “a community that welcomes animals and treats them with love.”
“As you all know, I’ve always had a soft spot for animals and it’s a dream of mine to be able to do more to champion their welfare,” she said.
“Doing this one step at a time until we get there,” she added.
A well-known animal welfare advocate in the Philippines, Evangelista has been working with Philippine Animal Welfare Society to promote the asong Pinoy or aspins.
One of her pets is an aspin named Panda.
