MANILA - "Himala: Isang Musikal," a musical adapted from the iconic 1982 movie starring Nora Aunor, was the major winner at the 11th Philstage Gawad Buhay awards, taking home 8 trophies at what is considered local theater's biggest night of the year.

A product from sister companies The Sandbox Collective and 9 Works Theatrical, "Himala: Isang Musikal" won best ensemble performance and best direction.

The best play went to Philippine Educational Theater Association's "night, Mother," while the best musical was awarded to 9 Works Theatrical and Globe Live's "Eto Na! Musikal nAPO!"
