MANILA -- The designer who has created avant-garde outfits for Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and other Hollywood fashion icons will hold a special fashion show in Okada Manila on August 12, officials of the integrated resort giant said Wednesday.

Okada Manila will serve as the venue of the Rocky Gathercole fashion charity gala where proceeds will benefit partner communities of ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya, Bryan Bass, Okada Manila executive director for property marketing, said in a press conference.

The fashion show for a cause is one of the main events of Bantay Bata's 20th anniversary celebration, Susan Bautista-Afan, ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya managing director, said.

"Rocky is the story of a Bantay Bata in the sense that he was an abused child who grew up in very unfortunate circumstances, but that did not stop him from going after his dreams and being a successful designer," Afan said.

The benefit show was finalized after Okada Manila signed an agreement to partner with Lingkod Kapamilya for its corporate social responsibility projects.

With the world's largest projection mapping surface and the world's largest multi-colored dancing fountain in Okada, we have an opportunity to do things that people will be blown away with, Bass said.
