MANILA -- After Dalgona coffee, here's another drink that you can try making at home.
On Facebook, FRNK Milk Bar recently shared the recipe for its dark cocoa milk, which uses ingredients that are readily available in most homes.
"We know you must be craving for a FRNK signature craft milk drink, so here’s an easy recipe for dark cocoa milk you can make at home. It may not be gluten-free or use our typical ingredients as well as keeping the calories low, but it tastes just as good!" it said.
According to FRNK Milk Bar, a glass of its dark cocoa milk requires 300 ml of milk, 100 ml of water, 4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and ice cubes.
The store suggested adjusting the amount of sugar based on the cocoa powder and milk that you'll be using.
"If you're using raw or unsweetened cocoa, you may want to add a little sweetness and if you're using already sweetened cocoa (ready-to-drink supermarket bought cocoa), you might want to reduce your sweetener. We used full cream milk for this recipe but if you prefer almond or non-fat milk, adjust your sweeteners accordingly," it said.
FRNK Milk Bar said the first step is to make the "cocoa drip sauce" by combining the cocoa powder, sugar, and water in a pan.
"Mix everything with a spatula to make sure there are no clumps until you reach a gentle simmer," it said.
After thickening the mixture, let it cool and brush it to the side of the glass, "enough to nicely cover the rim."
Add ice cubes, pour the milk, scrape off the rest of the cocoa sauce, and add on top of the milk.
"Bonus: Chop 3 to 4 pieces of Oreo or any chocolate cookie as topper/garnish. You can also add chia seeds," FRNK Milk Bar said.
