MANILA -- Even if you're staying at home, you can still help frontliners and those who lost jobs and sources of income because of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
One of these ways is by doing some online shopping. Yes, you read it right: shopping portals such as Lazada have made it more convenient for people to donate to specific causes given the COVID-19 crisis.
On Thursday, it gave users simple steps to share their blessings to medical workers as well as the less-fortunate.
After loading the app, go to the "load, bills, and e-coupon" section, click, "donation," select an advocacy partner, pick your specific item to donate, and pay.
The donation service is part of the shopping platform's Lazada for Good initiative, which is activated in times of disaster or calamity.
Last week, Lazada said it has temporarily suspended logistics operations in the Philippines to support the country's battle against COVID-19.
