MANILA — "No more pain, baby girl."
This was the message of the Facebook page dedicated to the cancer battle of 19-year-old Maxine Blanco, who succumbed to the disease on Saturday.
"[At] 3 p.m. the hour of the Divine Mercy, Maxine earned her angel wings and slowly going up in heaven. For sure all the other angels are thrilled in welcoming her... No more pain, baby girl. We love you very much, Maxine," the Facebook page "Live Life To The MAX" announced on Saturday.
Blanco was a subject of a viral social media post after Gab Sta. Ana, her boyfriend of six years, uploaded a photo album on Facebook in which he recounted tidbits of their love story.
Each of the 14 photos was captioned with details about their relationship, from when they met during 8th grade up to their college days together at the University of Sto. Tomas.
As of posting, Sta. Ana's viral "kilig-inducing" post has garnered 116,000 shares, 88,000 reactions, and 11,000 comments.
On a Facebook post on Saturday night, Sta. Ana paid tribute to her girlfriend.
"Max fought hard and I'm thankful for everything. No more pain, no more suffering. She might [have] left us, but her spirit will always be here. I love you Maxine," he said.
Those touched by Blanco's story may get their chance to personally pay tribute to the teen as the family said they are currently finalizing details for a public viewing.
