MANILA - She has worn dresses inspired by the Ibong Adarna and the Mayon volcano for the Miss Universe 2018 pageant.
And for her homecoming parade later this afternoon, Catriona Gray will once again wear something that reflects her Filipino roots.
In a Facebook post on Friday, designer Mak Tumang gave the public a first look at Gray's outfit: a terno jumpsuit adorned with designs of the Philippine plants sampaguita and anahaw.
He also showed a mini dress with the same details.
"The sampaguita, known as the Philippine Jasmine, is the national flower of our beautiful country, the Philippines. Legend has it that its etymology was derived from the Filipino words 'sumpa kita,' which means 'I promise you,'" he explained.
"Interestingly, this flower has a lot to do with the concept of coming home... Thank you for the fulfilled promise of making the Filipino people proud. Mabuhay!" he told Gray.
Tumang rose to fame after designing symbolic gowns for Gray during Miss Universe and the Binibining Pilipinas national pageant.
