MANILA – Want to be a full-time blogger? It’s not as easy as people may think, according to Laureen Uy.
Uy, 29, is considered one of the most popular bloggers in the country with an Instagram following of nearly 1 million.
In an interview with ABS-CBN Lifestyle, she debunked some of the most common myths associated with blogging, including the impression that all they do is go on a holiday.
“No, oh my God, if you just know,” she said. “What happens every work trip… it takes a lot of work.”
She continued: “You follow an itinerary so we start early, maybe 8 or 9 a.m., then we end at 11:30 [p.m.]… Basically it’s 24/7 work. When you get home, you still have to check your e-mails, draft your vlog, draft for everything. And you have to edit your photos, you have to edit everything.”
“Basically, [you’re] like an entire team, pero ikaw lang mag-isa. It takes a lot.”
Uy, who has been blogging since she was in college, went on to stress that blogging is a real job.
“[It’s the year] 2019 na, guys. Marami tayong work that’s not just corporate… There are a lot of new jobs that require creativity. Ito ‘yun,” she said.
