MANILA – Many have admired Erich Gonzales’ impressive body that she flaunted in Siargao while filming for her upcoming movie.
Although the actress appreciates all the positive comments, Jericho Rosales, her “Siargao” co-star, said people should look beyond Gonzales’ sexiness.
“I think they should look beyond that. She’s a very talented person. Look beyond sexy. It’s not a vehicle to just be sexy. Sayang 'yun, hindi ka tatagal kapag ganun. This girl has talent so [look beyond sexy],” he said.
Rosales was also there for Gonzales when she got asked about persistent rumors romantically linking her to "Siargao" director Paul Soriano.
Before Gonzales could respond, Rosales already ushered his co-star out implying that the actress need not answer an awkward question.
Meanwhile, in an interview with ABS-CBN News, Gonzales said it’s a big blessing to have their movie compete at this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
“Hindi namin in-expect na mapapasali 'yung pelikula namin sa MMFF this year but we made it. We are just hoping and praying na sana mabigyan ng chance ng mga manonood 'yung pelikula namin. 'Yung setting, one of the best destinations in the country. Sana suportahan nila at panoorin ang 'Siargao,'” she said.
In a separate interview, Rosales said the movie is not a conventional one but he is certain people will like it.
“It focuses on the question of saan ka ba talaga minamahal? Doon sa lugar na kung anong naging kinalabasan ng career mo, o doon sa lugar na talagang tinanggap ka kung sino ka? Para kasing story iyan ng Manila loving you for what you’ve become and then the island loving you for who you really are,” he said.
Rosales also explained the story also has a love angle between his character and those of Gonzales’ and Jasmine Curtis Smith’s.
“Sobrang saya [to work with Erich and Jasmine] especially nasa isang island kami. Parang isang buwan kami doon. Pagkatapos ng work namin, natatapos kami ng work ng 10 p.m., sometimes 8 p.m., latest is midnight but after that, we could still go out and have fun. The next morning, we surf and then we shoot. That’s the life. We all had fun. Silang dalawa game lang for whatever. They are rock stars din,” he said.
“Siargao” will open in theaters on Christmas day.
