He's one of the most popular OPM acts today.

So it's no wonder Disney tapped Iñigo Pascual to help promote its newest Pixar animated flick, "Coco," which is about a young boy who loves music and journeys to the land of the dead.

The young singer was asked to sing the Filipino version of the movie's theme song, "Remember Me," the music video of which was released on Friday.

The song is about remembering a loved one who passed away -- and its theme had Pascual nearly in tears as he associated it with Franco Hernandez, the 26-year-old Hashtags member who died in a drowning incident last week.

"The song kind of reminded me of him, and kind of made me realize a lot of things," he said. "I could say that Franco left a very good impact on all of us. He’s going to be forever in our hearts."

This is the first time Pascual had contributed to a soundtrack for a Disney film. Of his feat, he said: "To be able to work on a project na may tatak Disney is something na ang sarap sa pakiramdam."

"It is something that I can tell my kids in the future… I bet they’re going to watch this movie. It’s a great feeling," he added.

Pascual is best known for "Dahil Sa 'Yo," which topped the first-ever Billboard Philippines Top 20 charts.

He is also the son of Kapamilya star Piolo Pascual.
