‘Touched by God’: Baron Geisler turning over a new leaf?

Baron Geisler (center) has been sharing just how much turning to Christianity has changed his life. Instagram

A self-confessed alcoholic who has figured in several public brawls, actor Baron Geisler once promised that he'll be "better."

And he appears to be making good on his word, sharing that he has turned to religion in his bid to turn over a new leaf.

On Instagram this Saturday, he wrote: "I need the power of God’s Holy Spirit to sustain me in the path of righteousness."

He then described himself as "touched by God to touch others" in his newest post --one of the many over the past few months that had him show off his renewed life.

This included joining fellowships with Maranatha Christian Fellowship, a "Bible-based, spirit-led congregation" in Cebu, and speaking about mental health awareness at various symposiums.

Thank you Maranatha Knights of the Kingdom for including me in this Tuesday lunch Fellowship. I can never get enough wisdom from our meetings. I’ve come along way since you brothers, dads and lolos took me under your wing. God is Faithful and Good all the time. More of Him less of me. Thanks again for intoducing me to The Fathers Love and making me understand how much i am Loved by Him. Pointing it always back to the cross. My identity is upon Him! ☝🏽 Much love and respect to Pastor Joseph, Pas Michael and Dad Lyndon. Thank You, Lord. Eternally grateful. 🙏🏽😊 #buildingfreshnewlifestories #maranathachristianfellowship @make_my_trip_travel_tv @mikemachacon @matthewnineteenfourteen Love you folks!! 🙏🏽❤️😀

Will definitely visit Hagonoy soon fam!! 🙌🏽❤️😁. “He is a changed man and will do what is necessary to make sure he makes a contribution to society.” - John Tucker If this is not God’s handiwork, then I don’t know what it could be then. Less than a year may not be much for some but for this person, it means a whole new life. Long have been gone the man that we’d watched in primetime news getting into brawls, drunk as sh*t and what-else. This is Baron 2.0. These photos were just the ones taken last Tuesday, Oct 16, but for most of his time when he’s in Digos City, Davao del Sur, he tirelessly made rounds to speak and share the good news. From one engagement to another, he pours his life’s story and speaks his love and gratitude to the Lord for his transformation. This time, you won’t see the “brave” man, angry and cocky against anyone who gets into his way, instead you’ll see a brave man who’s unafraid to bare his soul. A brave man who tells about his darkest days while hoping that maybe his story to tell will positively touch the lives of those who’re listening. Baron now is turning his adversities to new opportunities. For all the goodness and miracles that the Lord has made into his life, he is paying it forward. More power, Bah! In behalf of the Municipality of Hagonoy Davao del Sur, Thank You Baron Geisler, Serene Valley, Genevieve Marie Dolores Brandares-paulino and to everyone who made this possible. Salamat sa Ginoo! (Thanks Novie John Balderaz Palarisan for these photos) ❤️

The turnaround was welcomed by his fans, who have been sharing their own experiences of changing their lifestyles with him and encouraging him in his new path in the comments.

In March, Geisler said that he was going to be checking himself into a rehabilitation center and that he'll "taking it very seriously this time."

He had stayed inside a rehab facility to get treatment for his alcohol dependency back in 2011.

His declaration came after he, earlier that month, was arrested last for threatening to kill his brother-in-law.
